Good morning citizens! It’s Thursday and the conference is half over (or half still to come?).
Today’s weather is expected to be around 66F and partly cloudy.
We’ll have the doors open at 8am, with tea, coffee, and pastries from Sweetpea Baking Company.
The opening keynote by Ashe Dryden begins at 9am in the Sanctuary. Ashe is an indie developer living in Madison, WI and working to improve diversity in the tech community.
Lunch is by Veli Thai, which also has three food carts downtown, and a restaurant called Thai Garden.

Kurt Sussman will lead a session on “Hacking your Meatware: Exercises you can do at your desk” at 5:45, and there will be a Code ‘n’ Splode/Geek Feminism meetup at 6:30. The Hacker Lounge closes early at 8pm, so everyone can go to the party.
The 5 Years of Open Source Citizenship Party is tonight at OMSI! Doors open at 7pm. There will be three separate planetarium showings, access to exhibits, games and activities, catered food with a cash bar, and more. Check out this map to OMSI, and we’ll have walking and transit directions available at registration.
Admission to the party is included with your full conference pass. If you want to bring a friend, party tickets are also available for purchase.
Speaking of friends, your local friends may be interested in tomorrow’s unconference, or in this evening’s events in the hacker lounge. They can join in — just tell them to sign up for a Community Pass.
